We’ve been around for a while to enhance our community.

Wildwood Acres

…is a private waterfront community located in Tool (Henderson County) Texas on the western shores of beautiful Cedar Creek Reservoir, approximately one hour southeast of Dallas, Texas. It lies immediately north of the Tarrant Regional Water District spillway and pumping facility. Our small community was one of the first to be developed after completion of the dam which formed the reservoir in the mid to late 1960s.

Our neighborhood consists of a compact, partially wooded area featuring a number of old growth trees of several native varieties. A number of years ago, the streets in the addition were deeded to Henderson County which maintains the surface areas. Because of this, there is no gated entrance to our community. However, the community is one of the safest areas on the entire reservoir and is protected by the Henderson County Sheriff’s Department as the entire area lies in unincorporated county territory.

Wildwood Acres has a limited number of common sense restrictive covenants which do not impinge upon the rights of individual owners. As an example, we do not restrict owners from flying flags on their private properties nor do we specify paint colors for homes among other items. We believe that within generally accepted standards of good taste, each owner’s home is, indeed, his castle.

Wildwood Acres is a vibrant and beautiful area featuring three “points” which provide for inlets into the neighborhood thus increasing the number of properties having direct access to the lake itself. Since Wildwood Acres is located in the deepest portion of Cedar Creek Reservoir, even during low water events our boat ramp rarely is closed. Almost all of the lakefront properties are protected from wave activity by sturdy sea walls and are built and maintained by each owner whose property fronts on the water. Sea wall and boat house construction and upkeep are monitored by the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD) which owns the reservoir. Permits from the Water District are required prior to any construction.

New property owners quickly become acquainted with current owners who gladly welcome them to our community.
